Grades Taught
Pre-K to Grade 6
Introduction
At Raymond Elementary School, we strive to create an optimal learning environment for all children. Our students and staff are amazing! We are all COMETS (Curious, Ownership, Mindful, Empowered, Tenacious and Safe).
As students come to school here, our main focus is on helping students learn skills they need to be successful in life and in future schooling. We do this by connecting with students, using research-supported instructional and intervention strategies, and by supporting character development.
At Raymond Elementary School, we are looking to create an “Optimal Learning Environment” for every student. We have developed this framework to guide all of the professional development that we do as a staff.
This year, our school focus will be:
- Relationships & Classroom Management: We will continue our efforts to learn about and implement a responsibility-centered discipline system into the school.
- Knowledge of Curriculum: We will continue to develop a deep knowledge of the new curricula, including how the curricula progress throughout the grade levels.
- Quality Evidence of Learning: We are defining each level of achievement (excelling, achieving, developing & beginning) for each essential skill and procedure in ELAL and Math. We are also gathering exemplars. This is to build consistency across grade teams, help students understand the level they are expected to achieve and to better communicate with parents.
- Impactful Instruction: We are ensuring all teachers have the skills needed to competently implement our literacy guarantees.
We are lucky to work together with the parents of our students and our community as we impact the future.
