Hot Lunch 2023/2024

We will be running our (optional) Hot Lunch program again for grades 1-6 this year. We run the Hot Lunch Program as both a fundraiser for the classrooms and as a convenient lunch option for parents. 

There have been a few minor changes from last year so please read carefully all the information below.  

We are continuing to offer four different local Hot Lunch food choices this year! 

★ Subway

★ A-1 Pizza

★ Burger Baron

★ Dairy Queen

Lunch will be rotated weekly in that order: Subway, A-1, Burger Baron, and Dairy Queen. Please be aware that if you opt-out of one type of lunch your student will NOT receive a hot lunch on the week that type is served.

We will begin September 20/21 and run through to June 5/6. When in doubt check the RES Calendar on the website to see the schedule.

Gr. 1,3, and 5 will have Hot Lunch on *Wednesdays (exception listed below)

Gr 2,4, and 6 will have Hot Lunch on Thursdays

All lunches will be $6.25 per lunch as per last year.

*Grades 1,3 & 5 will have their hot lunch on Tuesday, January 30 due to there being no school on January 31.

The selections for each restaurant are as follows:

Subway:

★ pizza sub

★ ham sub

★ cold cut sub

All Subway lunches will include a cookie and a juice box.

A-1 Pizza:

★ hawaiian pizza

★ pepperoni pizza

★ cheese pizza

All A1-1 lunches will include 1 slice of pizza, a bag of chips, and a juice box.

Burger Baron

★ corn dog

★ hotdog

All Burger Baron lunches will include a bag of chips, and a juice box.

Dairy Queen:

★ hamburger

★ cheeseburger

★ chicken strips (2 pack)

All DQ lunches will include regular fries (larger than the kids size fry from last year) and a juice box. Condiments will be served on the side. (Ketchup and mustard packets for the burgers. BBQ, honey mustard or sweet and sour sauce for the chicken strips.)

There are 3 different payment/selection options:

Full Year Option (September 2023 - June 2024)

(34 lunches - $212.50 for all)

9 - Subway: Sep 20/21, Oct 18/19, Nov 15/16, Dec 13/14, Jan 24/25, Feb 28/29, Mar 27/28,  May 1/ 2, May 29/30

9 - A-1: Sep 27/28, Oct 25/26, Nov 22/23, Dec 20/21, *Jan 30/Feb 1, Mar 6/7, Apr 10/11, May 8/9, June 5/6

8 - Burger Baron: Oct 4/5, Nov 1/2, Nov 29/30, Jan 10/11, Feb 7/8, Mar 13/14, Apr 17/18, May 15/16

8 - DQ: Oct 11/12, Nov 8/9, Dec 6/7, Jan 17/18, Feb 14/15, Mar 20/21, Apr 24/25, May 22/23

* Wednesday, Jan 31st lunch for Gr 1,3,5 will move to Tuesday, Jan 30

Half Year Option A (September 2022 - End of January 2024)

(18 lunches - $112.50 for all)

5 - Subway: Sep 20/21, Oct 18/19, Nov 15/16, Dec 13/14, Jan 24/25

5 - A-1: Sep 27/28, Oct 25/26, Nov 22/23, Dec 20/21, **Jan 30/Feb 1

4 - Burger Baron: Oct 4/5, Nov 1/2, Nov 29/30, Jan 10/11

4 - DQ: Oct 11/12, Nov 8/9, Dec 6/7, Jan 17/18

**Wednesday, Jan 31st lunch for Gr 1,3,5 will move to Tuesday, Jan 30

Half Year Option B (February 2024 - June 2024)

(16 Lunches - $100.00 for all)

4 - Subway: Feb 28/29, Mar 27/28,  May 1/2, May 29/30

4 - A-1: Mar 6/7, Apr 10/11, May 8/9, June 5/6

4 - Burger Baron: Feb 7/8, Mar 13/14, Apr 17/18, May 15/16

4 - DQ: Feb 14/15, Mar 20/21, Apr 24/25, May 22/23

Month to Month (Beginning month will include both September and October)

**September/October 2022 (6 Hot Lunches - $37.50)

2 - Subway: Sep 20/21, Oct 18/19

2 - A1 Pizza: Sep 27/28, Oct 25/26

1 - Burger Baron: Oct 4/5

1 Dairy Queen: Oct 11/12

Each lunch is $6.25/lunch. If you are opting out of certain lunches, please fill out the form and submit payment accordingly.

There are a few minor exceptions to this rule:

• In order to begin the program, we are will open the form on Thursday, Aug 31 and close it on Thursday, September 14. Month one includes both September and October
• There is 1 months that roll into another month: A1 in January is on January 31 and February 1, 

Late submissions will not be accepted. 

The Month to Month option will change and be updated every month, the Half Year Option and the Full Year Option will be available throughout the year and will be updated monthly. 

Multiple payment types are available:

• eTRANSFER to resfees@westwind.ab.ca (please fill out the online google form and
  write “hot lunch, google form completed” or any other special instructions in the message box)
• pay credit/debit in the office, or through RES website:Payment Options
• set up an automatic withdrawal
• cash to the office

For those who prefer to pay monthly, we strongly encourage our Automatic Withdrawal Option. You can fill out the google form for the Half Year or Full Year option, and the money can be automatically withdrawn monthly from your account on the date you choose.
